Day 1
This natural dyeing workshop is a two-day course where participants dye a traditional noren curtain.
On the first day, we cover techniques such as hikizome (brush dyeing) and stencil layering.
For the dyeing, we use enju (pagoda tree) and yaguruma (alder buckthorn) with an alum mordant for brush dyeing.
I also explained methods for creating gradations with hikizome, how to extract deeper colors by boiling the dye longer, and the roles of soybeans and funori seaweed in the jiire (pre-treatment) process. 😊

1日目は引染めとステンシルの分版についての講習です。

そのイメージを元に藤を描き歌を詠んでみました。

ルーティーン（留有天韻）からのソロパート（素呂把跡） フロー（風浪）に極めて、千代に丹色のサイケデリック（彩希照尽久）。

この短歌は、鶴の舞をブレイクダンスの言葉で表現しています。 ルーティーン＝複数人で踊ること。 フロー＝美しい流れの動き。

当て字の意味：
* ルーティーン（留有天韻）＝「留めのある（メリハリのある）天の韻を踏む舞」
* サイケデリック（彩希照尽久）＝「豊かな色彩の希望が照らし尽くす」

外来語に当て字をつけるのは、とても楽しい遊びですね😊

From routine to a solo part, flowing with style, in everlasting scarlet tones, psychedelic.

This short tanka describes the dance of cranes through breakdance terminology.
* Routine = dancing with multiple performers.
* Flow = graceful, seamless movement.
Kanji wordplay:
* Routine (留有天韻) = “a dance stepping heavenly rhymes with rhythm and pause.”
* Psychedelic (彩希照尽久) = “a radiant hope that illuminates with rich colors.”
Playing with kanji for foreign words always sparks joy 😊
